THE DRAMA GROUP
We are quite a small group with a varying age group ranging from 9 years to 68. We have joined up with the choir for such performances as “Hopes and Dreams” and “The Gift”. We also aim to use short, pithy sketches to illustrate themes and ideas at Family services, and often produce a short Christmas drama, which we perform at the Christingle services. What we lack in experience we make up with enthusiasm! We have a lot of fun, by acting out stories and ideas; we gain a greater insight into the work of the Lord, and hope that we can share it with other in any entertaining but informative way.
Our recent projects include joining with the choir and volunteers from year 6 of Finningley Primary School to create the “The Mysterie of the Nativitie” by Christine Johnston, basically a carol service with dialogue, with 17 speaking parts and a multitude of angels and shepherds. It was quite a challenge finding room for all the participants but a great success enjoyed by everyone whether singing, acting or watching. It certainly gave us food for thought to join together for more events of this nature.
AUCKLEY CHURCH TODDLER GROUP
Our Toddler Group meets twice a week at The Parish Centre from 9.30am until 11am.
This group is for parents with children from 0 to 3 years. It allows children to
interact with others and for parents to meet and make friends. It is a very friendly
