Finningley Youth Club
More Volunteers Needed !
Some of you may not be aware that the Youth Club, which runs fortnightly in Finningley Village Hall, is sponsored by Finningley Church.
It opened in September last year and caters for young people from 9 –13 years of age. The leader is Phil Mearns, who, although not a member of our church, is a practising Christian and feels he has a real calling to run this group. There are now on average about 20 children who attend on a regular basis, which would indicate that the Club is flourishing.
Including Phil, and Ruby Metcalf there are just four people who regularly help at the club nights, this is really not enough if one of them happens to be away for any reason, and he would really appreciate some extra help.
So would any of you consider helping in some way? Phil would appreciate people who would on occasions like to share a skill or interest they might have – e.g. drama, photography, sport crafts…. Or would commit to helping on a regular basis –once month – two months – six weeks – whatever they could manage or be prepared to be ‘on call’ if regular helpers not available.

SUNDAY CLUB CELEBRATION
This September our Sunday Club, here in Finningley, celebrates its 25th Anniversary
-
This is something that I feel needs celebrating and I hope that you agree. We are therefor going to hold a service to mark this occasion on September 14th at 3pm (15.00 hrs) in Finningley Parish Church. This will be a short and informal service, followed by refreshments in the church.
If you, or someone you know, has been a Sunday Club teacher or were one of the kids
who came (or still comes) and after 25 years this must amount to an awful lot of
people, please take this as an invitation to come to this service -
We really look forward to seeing you.
