Caring for God’s creation

At Holy Trinity & St Oswald Church, Finningley, we believe caring for God’s creation is part of our Christian calling. From the very beginning, God saw that creation was “very good”, and we are called to live in harmony with the world around us, with one another, and with God.

Today, the challenges facing our environment affect communities across the world and future generations to come. As a church, we want to play our part — however small — in protecting and renewing the earth through worship, action, education, and everyday choices.

From reducing energy use and recycling more, to supporting wildlife and encouraging sustainable living, we are committed to making our church and community more environmentally responsible. Our faith inspires us not only to care for people, but also for the world God has entrusted to us.

Together, we are striving to tread more lightly on the earth and help safeguard creation for generations to come.

How we’re playing our part

Everyday choices

Reducing energy use, recycling more, and making greener choices in how we run the church day to day.

Supporting wildlife

Caring for the churchyard and surrounding land so that birds, insects and wildflowers can thrive.

Worship & action

Letting our faith shape how we live — through prayer, learning together, and practical steps as a community.
