It’s been a long road. Two winters of roof leaks in 2023 and 2024 left St Saviour’s with damp plaster, peeling paint, and a building that wasn’t looking its best. In 2025 the roof was finally put right…and then came the patient bit: waiting, and waiting, for the walls to dry out properly.
Well, the wait is over. The painters are in, the scaffolding is up, the dust sheets are down, and St Saviour’s is being transformed before our eyes. Every fresh stroke feels like a small act of hope, a much-loved church being made ready for the next chapter of its life.
And once it’s finished? There’ll be a celebration to match. New look, same heart and everyone will be invited. Watch this space.
